Privacy Policy – Aroha

Aroha is designed with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Who we are

Aroha is developed and operated by Axiant Labs Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions about your privacy, contact us at support@axiantlabs.com.

What data we handle

1. Your habit data

Your habit titles, schedules, reminders, check-ins, and notes are stored locally on your device and, where you choose to enable it, in your personal iCloud account for syncing across your devices. We do not collect, access, or store this content on our servers.

2. Analytics, diagnostics, and advertising measurement

We collect anonymised usage analytics (for example, screens viewed, features used) and crash diagnostics to understand how the app is performing and where we can improve it.

We also use third-party tools to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. When you install or interact with Aroha after seeing one of our ads, limited data (such as app opens, sign-ups, and subscription events) may be shared with our advertising partners so we can understand which campaigns are working. This data is used solely for measurement and campaign optimisation — it is never sold.

3. Purchase information

If you purchase Aroha Premium, payment is processed entirely by Apple and is tied to your Apple ID. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status — enough to unlock Premium features and support "Restore Purchases" — and nothing more. For purchase history, refunds, or subscription management, visit your Apple ID account settings or contact Apple Support directly.

4. AI features (only if you use them)

If you choose to use AI-powered features, the text you enter into the AI tool is sent to Google Gemini to generate a response. We do not send your habit database to any AI provider, and your data is not used to train AI models. Please do not enter sensitive personal information (such as medical details, financial data, or passwords) into AI prompts. Google's privacy policy

Tracking and advertising identifier

To measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, Aroha may request access to your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. This identifier helps our advertising partners attribute app installs to specific campaigns.

You are always asked before this happens, and you can decline with no impact on your experience. If you decline, we rely on Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving, aggregated campaign measurement — no personal or device-level data is shared with advertising partners in this case.

You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Your choices

  • You can use Aroha without ever enabling AI features.
  • You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
  • You can decline the advertising tracking prompt, or change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Your data

Aroha does not require an account. Your habit data is stored only on your device (and in your personal iCloud account if you choose to enable sync). There is no personal data held on our servers to retrieve or delete. Analytics data we collect is anonymised and cannot be linked back to you. Children's privacy

Aroha is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

International data transfers

Some of our third-party partners (Meta, Google) may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using Aroha, you acknowledge that anonymised analytics and advertising measurement data may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

Data retention

We keep analytics and diagnostic data only for as long as needed to improve the product and maintain security. Once no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of Aroha after changes constitutes acceptance.
