Using Cleanup

Cleanup is a storage cleanup tool for iPhone. You may use it for lawful, personal purposes only. You must not misuse the app, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it in ways that violate any applicable laws.

What Cleanup does not do

We want to be clear about the limits of what any third-party app can do on iOS. Cleanup does not clear the cache of other apps, does not clear iOS system cache, does not clean RAM, does not boost CPU, does not speed up your device, does not scan for viruses or malware, and does not uninstall other apps. iOS does not permit any third-party app to do these things.

Cleanup frees up storage by helping you identify and remove or compress your own photos, videos, contacts, and email. That is what it does.

Deletion is permanent, and it is your decision

This is the most important thing in these terms.

Cleanup never deletes anything without your explicit confirmation. You review what has been found, you select what to remove, and you confirm before any action is taken.

Once you confirm, deleted photos and videos go to your iPhone's Recently Deleted album, where iOS keeps them for 30 days. After 30 days they are gone permanently. Deleted or merged contacts, and deleted emails, are subject to whatever recovery period your device or email provider provides, which may be none.

You are responsible for the deletions you confirm. We recommend backing up anything important before a large cleanup. We are not liable for content you choose to delete, for content lost through a merge you confirm, or for any consequence of those decisions.

Recommendations are suggestions, not instructions

Cleanup groups duplicates, flags similar photos, and may mark one image in a group as the likely best shot. These are suggestions produced by automated analysis. They can be wrong.

Nothing marked for removal is ever removed automatically. Review every recommendation before confirming. You remain responsible for every choice you make.

Storage estimates

Estimates of how much space you can recover, and how much a compression will save, are calculated from file sizes on your device and are approximate. Actual space recovered may differ, particularly if iCloud Photos is enabled, if items remain in Recently Deleted, or if iOS reclaims space on its own schedule. We do not guarantee any specific amount of recovered storage.

Video compression

Compression reduces file size by reducing quality. The degree of quality loss depends on the setting you choose and the source file. You will be shown the expected result before compressing.

If you replace an original with a compressed version, the original is deleted and follows the deletion rules above. Keep a backup of anything irreplaceable before compressing it.

Your vault

Vault content is encrypted and stored locally on your device, protected by the authentication method you configure.

We have no access to your vault and no ability to recover its contents. If you forget your PIN, lose your device, or delete the app, vault content cannot be recovered by us or by anyone else. Move anything you want to keep back into your photo library before deleting the app.

Email cleanup

Email cleanup requires you to authorise your email provider directly. You may disconnect at any time, in the app or through your provider's own security settings.

Deleting or archiving emails through Cleanup has the same effect as doing so in your email client. Recovery depends entirely on your provider's policies, over which we have no control. We are not liable for emails you choose to delete.

Contacts cleanup

Merging contacts combines information from multiple entries into one. While we aim to preserve all unique information, you should review each merge before confirming. We are not liable for contact information lost through a merge you confirm.

Subscriptions and purchases

Cleanup offers a free tier and an optional Cleanup Premium subscription. If you choose to subscribe:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at the time of purchase confirmation.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• If a free trial is offered, your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• To manage or cancel, go to Settings, Apple ID, Subscriptions on your device.
• We do not offer refunds outside of what Apple's standard policies provide.

A lifetime purchase, where offered, grants access to all features included in Premium at the time of purchase, for as long as the app is available and supported. It does not guarantee access to features introduced later, though we intend to include them wherever reasonable.

Intellectual property

All content, design, and code in Cleanup is owned by or licensed to Axiant Labs Private Limited. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Disclaimer of warranties

Cleanup is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that duplicate detection, similar-photo detection, or best-shot recommendations will be accurate in every case. Use is at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Axiant Labs Private Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Cleanup, including loss of photos, videos, contacts, emails, or any other content.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via the updated date above. Continued use of Cleanup after changes means you accept the updated terms.
