Privacy Policy – Mynk

Mynk is designed with your privacy in mind. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Who we are

Mynk is developed and operated by Axiant Labs Private Limited ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions about your privacy, contact us at support@axiantlabs.com.

What data we handle

1. Your financial and group data

When you create or join a group, the group name, member display names, expenses, settlements, comments, and balances are stored on our servers (Google Cloud Platform) so that all group members can see and update shared information in real time. If you attach a receipt image to an expense, that image is also stored on our servers and visible to group members.

Personal expenses and income you log outside of groups are also stored on our servers, tied to your account.

We use this data solely to provide and improve the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your financial data with advertisers or third parties.

2. Identity and authentication

Mynk offers sign-in via phone number OTP, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google (all powered by Firebase Authentication). We collect only what is necessary to create and secure your account — your phone number or the identifier provided by Apple or Google. We do not use this information for marketing, and we do not share it with advertisers or other third parties. You also choose a display name visible to your group members.

3. Notifications and reminders

Mynk can send you push notifications, including payment reminders initiated by other group members. Reminder content (such as amounts owed) is delivered via push notification services provided by Apple and Google. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

4. Group sharing and invite links

When you share an invite link or join code, anyone with that link or code can join your group and see the group's expenses, settlements, and member display names. Share links only with people you trust.

5. Analytics and diagnostics

We collect anonymised usage analytics (for example, screens viewed, features used) and crash diagnostics to understand how the app is performing and where we can improve it. This data is never sold or shared with advertisers.

6. Purchase information

If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed entirely by Apple (or Google, where applicable) and is tied to your Apple ID or Google account. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status — enough to unlock premium features and support "Restore Purchases" — and nothing more. For purchase history, refunds, or subscription management, visit your Apple ID or Google account settings.

Tracking

We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. If this ever changes, we will request your permission where required by law and update this policy.

Your choices

  • You can leave a group at any time. Expenses, settlements, and comments you added will remain visible to other group members.
  • You can export your group's data from group settings.
  • You can disable push notifications and reminders at any time in your device settings.

Your data and account deletion

You can request a copy of your data or ask for your account to be deleted by contacting us at support@axiantlabs.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data (including personal expenses, income records, and authentication details) will be removed. Shared group records (expenses, settlements, and comments you added) may be retained in anonymised form so that other members' balances remain accurate.

Data retention

Group data is retained for as long as the group exists and has active members. Personal expense data is retained while your account is active. Analytics and diagnostic data is kept only for as long as needed to improve the product and maintain security. Once no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored on Google Cloud Platform with encryption at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Mynk:

International data transfers

Our servers and third-party services (Google Cloud Platform, Firebase) may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using Mynk, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in these locations.

Children's privacy

Mynk is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of Mynk after changes constitutes acceptance.
